Amandalynn Salzman,

Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

I believe that cultivating a safe and non-judgemental environment for my clients allows for meaningful and lasting growth to occur. Therapy is a place to develop self-awareness and build confidence in yourself to take control of your life in a powerful way. As social beings, our relationships are significant to us but knowing how to navigate these relationships can be difficult. Learning how to effectively communicate and create healthy boundaries within your relationships can be mutually satisfying, allow for stronger intimacy and increase the quality of your life. As an immigrant myself, I strive to be culturally sensitive and accepting of my clients unique backgrounds and perspectives. Keeping in mind that the therapeutic process is a collaborative effort.

As an Individuals, Couples, Sex and Family Therapist I practice from a systemic framework which means I consider all the factors and relationships in a person’s life that could be impacting them. I also utilize evidence based methods and techniques from other theories such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, and Mindfulness therapy, to cater to my clients personal needs. I enjoy working with adults and couples who are having difficulties with emotional and sexual intimacy, trust and open communication, anxiety, anger and depression.

In life we are faced with times where change can be very much welcomed: birth of a child, marriage, new home to name a few.  There are times, however, when change can be difficult or traumatic: sudden death, coping with chronic illness, death following prolonged illness, break up of a relationship, or changes in employment.

Coping with these experiences is often  complicated by underlying factors such as anxiety or depression or can lead to major mental illness. If not resolved,  life can feel like its spiraling out of control.  I am a Licensed Clinical Socal Worker (LCSW) with over fifteen years experience helping  individuals cope with grief, loss and life transitions.  I utilize various clinical approaches to meet your individualized needs including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic, Solution focused, and Client Centered therapies.

I welcome an opportunity to talk with you further as you navigate through this difficult time.
